LISTEN IN: I
LISTEN IN is our monthly spotlight on new music.
This week: BenjiFlow, Moonchild Sanelly and Kamille.
BenjiFlow
First up is BenjiFlow, the North Londoner recently released his EP BENERGY and if you haven’t heard it yet, do yourself a favour. His smooth vocals shine through on afro beat inspired tracks that fuse with latin rhythms, RnB, trippy melodies and we even detect a hint of Funky House (let us have this) coming through on tracks like ‘Can’t Lose’. Last but not least, can’t talk about BenjiFlow without mentioning the track ‘Deep End’. Although released in 2018 the sublime song also features on the new EP, so if you slept on it two years ago, listen to BENERGY and let yourself have something good thing in this 2020.

Moonchild Sanellyy
Hailing from South Africa, Moonchild Sanelly is one of those artists who takes ‘moving to your own beat’ to another level. From her striking teal, CHONKY braids (fondly reffered to as her Moonmop), to her unique voice and beats, she’s boldly carving her own path with an authenticity that can’t be taught. Although coming from a family of performers, Moonchild Sanelly’s passions also lie within the fashion industry (a design school alumni) and she currently runs her own label while continuing to release singles such as ‘Bashiri’.

Kamille
Last but not least is singer/songwriter Kamille, who is currently Britain’s most successful female songwriter with songwriting credits that have contributed to over 4 billion Spotify streams and has twice been nominated for ‘Songwriter Of The Year’ at the A&R Awards, winning it in 2018. Putting pen to paper for her own tunes, Kamille recently released the sultry track ‘Somebody’: “for anyone experiencing loneliness, heartbreak, or just really missing the person they love. It’s been such a tough year and I just wanted to bring some positive vibes through my music!”. The laidback track arrives just in time for summer ft Ebenezer.
